Chimney Sweeping
As registered chimney sweeps with the Northern Ireland Association of Chimney Sweeps, 99% of the time we sweep chimneys the traditional way, which has worked for the last 150 years, using rods and brushes. The modern part of chimney sweeping is sheeting up and cleaning away soot and debris at the bottom of the flue. We use modern, hi-tech vacuum cleaners, with double motors and triple filtration to reduce the risk of soot from entering the room. The fireplace is sealed during the sweeping process by a tried and tested method used by most modern chimney sweeps.
Glazed Creosote Removal/ Rescaling Reaming
Occasionally we come across heavily glazed/ tarred flues - normally in multi-fuel/Wood stoves and room heaters which have been burning fuel slowly in uninsulated flues and haven't been swept or serviced regularly. The traditional chimney sweeping methods will not remove this glaze/ tar. We have various systems from Germany, the Ro-Kleen™ power sweeping system from the USA and the TAMAR power sweeping system from the UK. These remove the glaze/ tar.
Appointments
Should you need to make an appointment, please call us and if necessary, leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can. At busier times of the year, such as Autumn, Spring and especially Christmas, please be prepared to be patient. We will do our best to take care of all of our customers as quickly as we can, but at certain times of the year, this can be difficult. Perhaps having the chimney swept during the quieter Summer period would be to your advantage rather than waiting until busier times.
